Momax Auto Sales drives customer satisfaction and trust

Founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife duo Mari Chavez and Carlos Diaz, Momax Auto Sales began with a leap of faith and a lot of hard work.

Mari, who comes from a family of entrepreneurs—her mother owned a grocery store—encouraged Carlos to start his own business after he had spent years as a successful car salesman and car dealership manager.

She believed that if he could operate someone else’s business, he could definitely manage his own. Despite some initial fears, Carlos took the plunge, and together they’ve turned their vision into a thriving business with eight employees and nearly 200 vehicles.

From its humble beginnings with just five cars on the lot, Momax Auto Sales has seen significant growth. A major milestone came with a significant loan that allowed them to relocate to their current spot at 2207 Concord Road. This move marked a key expansion in their journey and has contributed to their ongoing success.

Originally from Mexico, Mari and Carlos have called Lafayette home for nearly 30 years. During that time, they’ve become an integral part of our community, sponsoring local events, organizations, and car shows, and always looking for ways to give back.

Their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has not only built a loyal customer base but also extended their reach beyond Greater Lafayette, attracting clients from Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and even Wisconsin.

Mari and Carlos’ story is a testament to the power of belief, perseverance and the impact that a small business can have on a community.
